Raising money for charity

The Partnerships and Safeguarding Team (Wigan Safeguarding Adult Board, Wigan Safeguarding Children’s Board, the anti-social behaviour team and domestic violence/abuse) raised £115 for the Mayor’s charity as part of the Deal Day events in Wigan and Leigh which took place recently.

The team’s stall at the Deal Days aimed to raise awareness of the work they do.

Colleagues from the team donated food items to create a raffle to win a hamper at each of the Deal Day events. Money raised from the hampers being raffled off at each Deal Day event was donated to the Mayor’s charity, Wigan and Leigh Hospice.

The team presented the cheque to the Mayor, Councillor Ron Conway last week. You can see the Mayor and Mayoress of Wigan being presented with the cheque from colleagues in the Transformation and Reform service.
