The Care Act states that safeguarding is: “protecting an adult’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect”.
Wigan Safeguarding Adult’s Board multi-agency policy explains how agencies will proactively engage with services and the community to prevent abuse occurring and respond if abuse is identified, suspected, or disclosed.
It is required that the response to all allegations must be in line with the current legislation and the WSAB Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedure.
